It was an early rise of 4am with 32 degree temps, for the last day of Yellowstone Park. Off to see grizzly and wolves, which we achieved however VERY far away. Ended with a great time feeding the fish. Wonderful end to a wonderful week! P.S. Luke took the "mini" cabin picture, his first picture with my camera.
It was a hunting we shall go in the hopes of finding a Moose! A day filled with floating down the ice cold river and eating s'mores. With a final sighting of a Moose!
Well, sad to say that day two and three were not so good. We were 10 for 10 with the VERY nasty stomach bug. I was out all of day two and spent the rest of day three slowly recovering. Now that the entire family has had the same bug we were all ready to go to Yellowstone (upper loop) on day four. Not an early rising family (very hard getting five kids ready) all the pictures were taken in the middle of the day, breaking every rule in the book. Hoping to wake up early the last two days to get some golden light pictures. Still had a wonderful time, seeing bison, elk, and ground squirrels.
So lesson learned that " the best laid plans of the Wilson family often go awry!" After much flight worries and outfit coordination we were so excited for family pictures at Grandpa Williams' (Tricia's Dad) farm. Just picture it. . . old rusted out trucks and tractors, wheat fields, chickens and an old cabin. But it was short lived, as 7 out of the 10 people had a nasty stomach bug. I had a couple of volunteers to smile for a minute but as the "family" picture shows it was rough going! We are hoping this bug is quick as it was a long drive up to Yellowstone with lots of gallon zip lock bags. A great start to the family vacation!
